Officer Negative - Zombie Nation

Gli Officer Negative  sono stati uno dei gruppi  più importanti e rappresentativi   christian  punk    .   Suonavano   un punk  " vecchia scuola"  con forti influenze  hardcore e street  punk  ,  anche  se nel loro ultimo  album Control is an Illusion del 2004  avevano  virato  verso sonorità metalcore  .

 Zombie Nation ,  pubblicato nel 1999 ,  è  stato  il loro  secondo  album  ,   il  più  riuscito ( almeno a mio parere )    in  quanto   in   esso  la band californiana  è  riuscita  a combinare  sonorità  tendenti  all' hardcore  vecchia scuola  di Black Flag e  Minor Threat   , allo  streetcore  dei Rancid  più  "  incazzati"  e ad aperture decisamente  più  melodiche  .  Inoltre  il  sound  risulta  abbastanza  oscuro  e  dai toni  quasi  " apocalittici"  in  sintonia  con  le  tematiche trattate  , e la produzione  è  abbastanza  buona  .

La tematica  principale  dell'album   è  la critica  dell' impero  e della   società  statunitense   in generale  .

Uno dei  brani    più  rappresentativi  dell'album ,   è  Dream$  ,  forte  critica  della  società  nordamericana  contemporanea  ( e occidentale in generale)  ,  e  del " culto del denaro"    su cui  è basata  . Di seguito il testo
